Swaziland Strawberries Watercolor Painting

Inspired by a beautiful photograph taken by my husband Matt’s cousin Amy McAdams, my newest watercolor painting is called “Swaziland Strawberries”. Amy and her family have been doing mission work for the last several years in Swaziland Africa. Here is the link to their mission work.

The way the light fell on the strawberries and illuminated the colors in the wood grain struck me and inspired me to paint this still life. I had a great time painting the MANY layers of the wood grain and the strawberries.  Building up the color in layers gives it that rich deep value that I like to achieve with my watercolor paintings. This painting was challenging!

The original painting is not current for sale (as it will be exhibited and entered into competitions, but PRINTS are now available in the shop!
