“Blue Chasm”
Original Oil Painting by Michelle C. East © 2016
Description: “Blue Chasm” Grand Canyon painting of the sun setting over the canyon creating a blue or blue-purple hue in the shadows of the chasm. Light was reflecting off the rocks illuminating the backsides of the rock formations closest to our view. This viewpoint was captured on a family vacation to the Grand Canyon in July 2016. There were fires in the land making the sky hazy. Original oil painting by Michelle C. East completed in September 2016
Size: 1 x 10 x 20″ Oil on Wood Panel Gallery Board (Finished Painted Edges-no frame needed)
Artist Interpretation: As the sun descends over the Grand Canyon incredible blue and purple shadows begin to appear. This point on the rim of the canyon down to the bottom is about 2000 feet deep and part of the Colorado River is visible. Intense color and depth define this deep majestic chasm.
